Expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) and hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF1α) was analyzed using immunohistochemistry on bone marrow biopsy specimens of essential thrombocythemia (ET) and multiple myeloma (MM) (before and after chemotherapy).
